The Torpedo BlendIR is your Impulse Response (IR) laboratory: mix IRs together, tweak them, distort them the way you like, and export the result into a Torpedo-compliant file you can upload into any Two notes product (hardware or plug-in).

BlendIR allows you to use two playlists, so as to:
Choose a raw sound file for IR processing (“Source”);
compare that “Source” file to a “Target” sound file which you want to emulate;
treat the tone of a raw sound file with the IRs you add to the mix, and compare what you get with what you are aiming at.
Drag & drop your raw sound files (.wav, .aiff, or .mp3) into the “Source” column.
Drag & drop any sound files (.wav, .aiff, or .mp3), the tone of which you would like to reproduce, into the “Target” column.
The top progress bar corresponds to the sound of your source file being played.
The bottom progress bar corresponds to your target sound. NB: When you select the target sound, IR processing automatically switches to bypass (since IR treatment is to apply to the source for it to be processed and sound like the target).
Drag & drop any chosen IR (.wav, .aiff, or .tur) onto one of the IR slots, or use the CAPTURE button to create your own IR (See “Capture tutorial”).
The added IR now affects the sound of your source file, as shows on the top, right-hand side bargraph.
The Torpedo Technology is more than just a convolution process. Thus, Two notes wanted to bring you a powerful tool to capture the sound signature of your cab and microphone in your studio, and which will take advantage of the Torpedo technology.
The Torpedo Capture software is embedded into the BlendIR to that purpose.
Set up your gear as if you were ready to record with your cabinet and microphone, replace the guitar amplifier by a studio/PA amplifier, the Capture software will send a test signal through the system and generate a Torpedo-compliant .tur file. Just load it into the Torpedo via theRemote software, that’s it!
Now you can bring the sound of your own gear onto every stage or studio.

A MAC or PC computer with an ASIO/Coreaudio soundcard embedding at least one line output and one line input. In an ideal case, the soundcard can go 24bits/96KHz with the best signal/noise ratio and THD.
A power amplifier that can work at 250W / 8 Ohms with the lowest possible distortion, linear frequency response and the lowest possible output impedance. A solid state studio monitoring amplifier fits perfectly for this task. A Tube guitar amplifier could be a fun thing to try, but as they are everything but linear the result may be… fun.
